Information used for purchases and enquiries
When you place an order or contact us, the information relevant to your purchase or enquiry can include your name, email address, delivery and billing addresses, order and payment-status details, and the messages you send us. Return requests may include information about the item and any photographs you choose to provide.
We use the information necessary to process your purchase, arrange delivery, deal with cancellations and returns, provide customer service and keep the records required by law. If you do not provide information needed to fulfil an order, such as a delivery address, we cannot complete that order.
Why we are allowed to use it
We use information where necessary to take steps at your request before a purchase and to perform our contract with you. We also process information to meet legal obligations, including applicable accounting and consumer-law requirements.
For general enquiries outside a purchase, our legitimate interest is to respond to your request and resolve the matter you raise. We limit the information used to what is relevant to that purpose. Where consent is required for a particular activity, you can refuse or withdraw it.
Our platform and service providers
Our online shop is hosted by Shopify. Shopify processes information to provide the shop platform and also carries out certain processing under its own privacy terms. Its Consumer Privacy Policy explains more about that processing. Where Shopify acts as our processor, its Data Processing Addendum describes its processing obligations and the arrangements applicable to EEA and UK data.
Information needed to fulfil a purchase is shared with the service providers involved in the relevant payment, delivery or return. We may also need to disclose relevant records to public authorities where the law requires it.
For orders fulfilled through KungFuBuy, we provide the order and delivery information needed to prepare and ship your purchase.
How long information is kept
We keep information for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including completing an order, resolving an enquiry or return, and meeting legal obligations. For customer correspondence, the criteria are whether the matter remains open and whether the information is still needed for a related legal obligation or dispute.
Dutch core accounting records are generally subject to a seven-year retention requirement; some categories have a different statutory period. This does not mean all browsing information or customer correspondence must be kept for seven years. We delete or anonymise information once it is no longer needed, unless retention is required by law.
International processing
We are based in the Netherlands, where we receive the information you provide to us. The shop's service providers may also process information in other countries.
Cookies and similar technologies
Shopify and services connected to the shop can use cookies and similar technologies. Some functions are needed to operate the shop, while other uses may require a choice or consent.
Your information rights
Depending on the circumstances and the law that applies, you can ask to access or correct your personal information, erase it, restrict its use or receive a portable copy. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Your right to object
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your circumstances. You also have the right to object to the use of your information for direct marketing, including related profiling.
Email support@claspandbloom.com to make a request. We may need information to verify your identity. We will respond within the applicable legal deadline and explain if an exception or extension applies.
Privacy complaints
If you have a concern about our use of your information, please contact us and explain the issue. We will acknowledge a data protection complaint within 30 days, investigate without undue delay, keep you informed and tell you the outcome.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl. You do not have to complete our complaints process before exercising a right to complain to a regulator.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the way we use personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
